The British commander sent a group of soldiers to the left to move quickly and attack the American soldiers. The only problem was, the ground to the left where the British soldiers were supposed to go were wetlands, which means that the ground was full of water and very muddy. This kept the British soldiers from being able to move quickly, and meant that their attack did not go as planned.
